I am a Berkeley native and began my real estate career in 1978 after attending Berkeley public schools, Merritt College and then UC Berkeley , majoring in Sociology. I have worked in both large and small offices, managed and trained agents, and bring a wealth of experience to my position of Broker/Manager.
I earned my Brokers license in 1984. With almost 30 years of experience, I have personally closed over 400 transactions and for 8 years, supervised approximately 250 transactions each year. I haven't seen it all, but almost!
My business philosophy is to collaborate with my clients to attain their objectives. My committment is to leave them in a better condition than I found them. I love to meet people, find out what they want in life, then help point the way. My enthusiasm for the real estate business helps my clients have a positive experience.
Equally important is my desire to be of service to my community. The office website, BerkeleyHome.com, is a good example of the importance I see in being connected to and supportive of my community. The site was launched in February of 1997. Since then, others have tried to imitate the name. Accept no substitutes! I have been involved in many organizations in the community including Albany Education Foundation, Cal Tennis, Special Olympics, YMCA, Arlington Fountain fundraiser, Albany/Berkeley Girls Softball, Albany Little League, various homeless outreach fundraisers, as well as Rotary International (raising money for polio vaccinations throughout the 3rd world).

As news around the region, state and country strikes fear and concern over falling values, Albany, Berkeley, and parts of El Cerrito and Oakland are still remarkably strong.
As previously mentioned, the move-up market appears to be driving this phenomenon. However, this move-up buyer can’t move unless a first time buyer comes along to by his house. Hence, here’s where care must be exercised. Smart agents and sellers must price these first time buyer homes reasonably, otherwise the whole engine won’t run.
In the meantime, Berkeley continues to defy the rest of the world…so who’s surprised!
